Going from an intern to freelancer and then promoted to full-time employee, I forged ideas and lead cultural insights for Allstate Insurance, KRAFT, Pfizer, United Healthcare, Capital One, and WE.Org.

I lead the copy side of communications for this local advertising, marketing, media and tech organization. Coalesce Chicago exists to give diverse individuals the insight and advantage they need to succeed and to create connections and advocate for inclusion. Duties include crafting the brand voice for the organization, creating a communications strategy and writing/overseeing all external communications.

The Creative Boot Camp is an intensive 4-day workshop. I worked on behalf of a real client with a team of creatives with varying skill sets and followed steps outlined by the industry. On the last day we pitched our their final campaign to a group of top industry creatives who determined the best work.

For 3 months, I worked with 9 other individuals and formed an agency called PRISMATIC. Being selected for the iCR8 bootcamp created a occupational ‘moment of clarity’ that I couldn’t have imagined. ICR8 taught me how the importance of communication, cooperation, and even dissent within a creative team can lead to the best method to solve problems at hand. It also taught me that being a copywriter requires silliness and smarts.
